Cookie Policy
Last updated: March 2026
Summary: Cirflect uses only essential cookies required for the platform to function (login sessions). We do not use any tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies. No third-party cookies are set.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They serve various purposes, from remembering your login session to tracking browsing behavior. Cirflect only uses cookies that are strictly necessary for the platform to work.
2. Cookies We Use
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
session |
Keeps you logged in and maintains your session while using Cirflect | Strictly necessary | Until you log out or close your browser |
remember_token |
Remembers your login if you choose "Remember Me" (if available) | Strictly necessary | 30 days |
3. Cookies We Do NOT Use
Cirflect does not use:
- Analytics cookies — We do not use Google Analytics or any tracking service
- Advertising cookies — We do not serve ads or track you for advertising
- Third-party cookies — No external services set cookies through our platform
- Social media cookies — We do not embed social media trackers
4. Local Storage
Cirflect uses your browser's local storage (not cookies) for one feature:
- Draft auto-save: Your journal entry drafts are saved locally in your browser so you don't lose your writing. This data stays on your device and is never sent to our server. You can clear it by clearing your browser data.
5. Why No Cookie Banner?
Under EU cookie regulations (ePrivacy Directive), strictly necessary cookies that are essential for a service the user has requested (like login sessions) are exempt from the consent requirement. Since Cirflect only uses strictly necessary cookies, a cookie consent banner is not legally required. We provide this policy for full transparency.
6. Managing Cookies
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies will prevent you from logging into Cirflect, as the session cookie is required for authentication.
Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored
- Delete individual or all cookies
- Block cookies from specific or all sites
- Set preferences for first-party vs. third-party cookies
7. Changes to This Policy
If we ever introduce cookies beyond what is strictly necessary (which we currently have no plans to do), we will update this policy and implement a proper cookie consent mechanism before doing so.
